Cork Collective is proud to announce the 12 finalists from Parsons School of Design and Politecnico di Milano, who have spent months reimagining the potential of recycled cork. Chosen from a group of talented students, their innovative designs will be showcased at Casa Cork during Milan Design Week in April 2025.
Desculpe is a cork headpiece designed for gallery spaces, narrowing the wearer’s field of vision while insulating against ambient noise, affording an undisturbed viewing experience.
The Krystyna luminaire showcases a natural cork base, which acts as a mold for shap¬ing the lampshade. This lampshade gets its unique texture through the use of a virgin cork blow mold, designed to transfer the essence of virgin cork bark into the glass.
This project showcases how cork has potential to transform spaces. The product is a cork tile designed for roofing or screening, and it features perforations based on a forest canopy, with connecting points forming branch-like light openings.
Keystone Seating is inspired by cork’s unique material properties, and masonry techniques, merging the material’s legacy with architectural traditions. The stool is composed of a strength tested arch, and alternating layers that take advantage of cork’s unique elasticity.
